TooManyTabs v1.8 release notes

Turn/off  TooManyTabs context menu - For those who prefer a less clutter context menu, please go to options and selected "Disable TMT context Menu".

New options for the TMT popup width - If you open TMT window by keyboard shortcut (e.g. ctrl + ~), now you may go to options and adjust your popup width. Set a larger width if you would like to see more tabs in the popup.

Note this only applies to windows open by shortcut. The Chrome limitation (width max. 800px) still applies to the standard popup.

Enjoy!

I'm not sure why but after a while it seems to have lost all the saved/idle background tabs. This happened sometime after the recent update, I haven't been checking the toomanytabs area until just now. I used a backup of my chrome profile folder from last month and then my background tabs were all back so I could recover them, but i wasn't about to use a profile from last month! Is it possible the new update did this?

ok ended up just reinstalling the extension and it works again for now.

@Fwaaa TooManyTabs data are stored in localstorage of the extension. So if the Chrome update somehow looses the extension storage. Then TMT data are lost as well. You conside to backup your tabs sometimes via the TMT export/import function.

Awesome thanks for your help.

It would be nice if could auto export data for backup thought, tabsmixplus did this with its sessions in its extensions directory for firefox, it would keep multiple dated files just in case. I'm not sure what is possible with chrome, but it would be pretty kewl if it were implemented:)

It would be nice to save tab in bookmarks folder, like this extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/faminaibgiklngmfpfbhmokfmnglamcm) like this people wich activated the Chrome sync could get TMT any where !

I understand how to import/export your list of tabs. but how am I to get that list to my other computer/s? is there a way to use the google sync function and sync that list to your other browsers? TMT can then show you several tabs with your synced browers and the tabs each contain. Then, when I leave home with like 30 tabs on my pc and forgot to burn a .txt file, with the exports on it, to a 5.25" floppy, when I get to work and put my 5.25" Floppy/RW (RW means rewrite, so I can use the floppy more than once!) into my work PC I don't have my tabs. This could have simply been avoided if they were synced soo fast it made floppys look outdated... Just a thought tho. untill then, I shall carry my box of floppys.

@mrfishjosh Thanks for the suggestion. However, Chrome does not sync extension's data yet. Please try FreshStart (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/nmidkjogcjnnlfimjcedenagjfacpobb) as it can save many links as different sessions and synchronize them. You only need to enable Chrome bookmarks sync in both machines. Hope it helps.
